Lake Tahoe boasts an average of 40 feet of snow and 300 days of sunshine each year, making it a great place to check out the world-class ski resorts, miles of backcountry trails, and all the wintertime fun that goes along with it. Check out this list of news and updates from Reno-Tahoe Territory’s ski resorts.
Reno-Tahoe Territory Ski Resorts
Heavenly Mountain Resort is open with its breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe. Spanning the California/Nevada border, the resort offers 34 miles of wide-open, groomed trails and 1,6000-foot plunges for some of the most outrageous skiing in North America.
In North Lake Tahoe, Diamond Peak Ski Resort is anticipating Dec. 3 as opening day. This community-owned resort offers miles of welcoming, uncrowded runs, easy access from the parking log and a dedicated Child Ski Center for the littlest skiers and snowboarders on the mountain.
Closer to Reno, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe offers the region’s highest base elevation at 8,260 feet, plus it’s only 25 minutes from Reno. The resort is open now for the 2022/23 winter season. New this year is the Lakeview Express, a new lift and an enhanced experience including the “Lakeview Zone” with trail additions, existing run improvements and new skier traffic patterns.
The Perfect Base Camp
With 16 resorts in the area, Reno-Tahoe Territory’s communities are the perfect base camp for adventure at any one of these world-class resorts.
